Our Palm Harbor home, one of the hurricane-tested homes on Trinity Bay, is located right on the water where Hurricane Ike took a real toll. However, our modular home withstood the hurricane’s fury, and many of our neighbors were impressed with its durability, especially as they considered the clearance homes in the area.

When we returned to our home in Sabine Pass, Texas, after Hurricane Ike, we were relieved to find that our hurricane-tested home had survived the worst the storm could deliver, losing just 6 shingles. Being less than a mile from the Gulf, that was truly remarkable. Unfortunately, my father’s site built home next door was totally gone, and most of the other homes in our area, whether site built or manufactured, were either destroyed or missing.
